We are all familiar with traditional non-stick pans. Initially, they work great. The food doesn't stick to them and they are easy to clean. Then, the honeymoon's over! Gastrolux® titanium cookware begins with a heavy-duty pressure-cast aluminum base. The base is cast by hand, piece by piece, into a 8mm (one third of an inch) thick thermophore base under literally tons of pressure. Gastrolux® titanium cookware will not warp, no matter how hot the pans get! Even if you put the hot pan in cold water!
This manufacturing process delivers uniform, fast heat distribution and a pan that stays flat. This heat-conducting base ensures optimal energy usage, exceptional heat retention and even cooking temperatures. Next, the Gastrolux® titanium patented high-tech surface is finished. Titanium and ceramic compounds are super-heated to a 36,032º F (20,000º C) molten, liquefied plasma state. This molten plasma is then blasted into the pans surface at Mach two (twice the speed of sound). The titanium and ceramic compounds literally become part of the finished surface inside and outside the pan.
When looking closely at the Gastrolux® titanium surface you'll see countless tiny pores, or mini-craters, of similar shape and size. The specially formulated non-stick compound is in the craters. It is not just a coating on top of the craters. The titanium and ceramic non-stick surface has a hardness grade of 9 on the MOHS scale. The MOHS scale measures the hardness of gemstones. Diamonds come in with a perfect 10, the hardest substance known to man. And, the Gastrolux® titanium surface is a 9!
