Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I clean the aluminum base on the bottom on my Gastrolux® Titanium pans?

A: If cleaning with a plastic scrubbing pad and hot soapy water does not remove the discoloration from the bottom of your Gastrolux® Titanium pans, then, you may use a cleanser and polish with a MILD abrasive action. Polish in the direction of the brush lines on the bottom of the pans only, never use any abrasive on the non-stick surfaces of your Gastrolux® pans! This method should restore most, if not all, of the original finish on the bottom of your pans.

Q: Does the Warranty also apply to the glass lids?

A: No, except for heat damage. The glass lids are chip resistant but as with any glass product, they may break.

Q: My Gastrolux® Titanium skillet has started to stick.

A: Gastrolux® Titanium cookware requires the cooking surface to be kept clean and free from food residues. This is best accomplished by immersing your Gastrolux® pan in water immediately after use, while the pan is still warm. The resulting steam will literally clean the surface and pores of the pan! If this cleaning process has not been followed regularly, then, you may clean your Gastrolux® Titanium pan with a plastic scrubbing pad and very hot soapy water.

Q: Will immersing my Gastrolux® Titanium pan in cold water damage the pan?

A: No. Immersing the pan in cold water while the pan is still hot generates steam that literally lifts off any food residue. The Gastrolux® Titanium pan will not warp because of its extra thick 8mm thermophore base. Also, plastic scrubbing pads will not damage the hard ceramic-titanium surface.

Q: Is Gastrolux® Titanium cookware oven safe? If so, at what temperatures?
A: Yes, Gastrolux® cookware is ovenproof up to up to 500º F (260º C), including the handles and glass lids!

Q: Can Gastrolux® Titanium cookware be used on a ceramic or glass top range?
A: Yes. Gastrolux® cookware is the best choice for smooth top ranges because of its perfectly flat, smooth base that ensures total contact with ceramic, glass or halogen cook tops. Gastrolux® Titanium cookware is perfect for gas, electric and smooth-top stoves!

Q: Can Gastrolux® Titanium be used with induction ranges?

A: No. Gastrolux® cookware has a cast aluminum core that is not magnetic and induction ranges use magnetic fields. Gastrolux® Titanium cookware is perfect for gas, electric and smooth-top stoves!

Q: Will the aluminum in my Gastrolux® Titanium cookware get into my food?

A: No. The ceramic-titanium surface completely seals the pan's cooking surface so that aluminum never comes in contact with food.

Q: What is the difference between Gastrolux® Titanium cookware and some of the other non-stick pans on the market?

A: There is no non-stick cookware that compares to Gastrolux® Titanium cookware. Gastrolux® Titanium cookware features a patented ceramic-titanium non-stick surface that is part of the pan and will not crack, peel or blister off. Other non-stick surfaces usually have one or more layers of traditional plastic coatings that, over time, may start to peel, scrape, burn and blister away.

Q: I used a metal spoon with my Gastrolux® Titanium pan and now there appears to be scratches in the pans surface?

A: It is safe to use with metal utensils with Gastrolux® Titanium cookware. Any scratches or scuffmarks you see do not penetrate the ceramic-titanium surface and will not interfere with the non-stick properties of your Gastrolux® Titanium pans.
